  abstract      = {This article describes the evolution from data modeling over information modeling to knowledge modeling. Three allied business concepts- Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Business Process Reengineering and Knowledge Management-and their corresponding frameworks such ea the „ARIS-House of Business Engineering „ are analyzed in regard to their objectives, methods and tools. Furthermore, main organizational changes evolved from these business concepts and their underlying reasons are discussed. }
