  abstract      = {The nature of the year 2000 problem in Information Technology is now quite widely know. Now the center of attention seems to be moving other aspect of the matter. These are the social, psychological, economic and political issues resulting from the problem. During the same time we will also face new, similar however of lesser scale problems, which Information Technology in Polish banks will have to cope with soon. These are: Single European Currency, adapting to requirements of new law on personal data and bringing data processing systems in line with regulations of the new Banking Law. All those tasks which need to be performed in parallel and completed in the near future, constitute quite a challenge and risk for information technology in Polish banking. }
