  abstract      = {In the past Executive Support Systems or Executive Information Systems were developed as a mainframe computer- based applications for only a few users, the top- executives. Today’s generation of EIS are aimed to pass through the management hierarchies and deliver the information to a broadest audience. The main objective of an EIS is to support the daily management activities of decissionmakers, through an easy- to- use application. The decision making and planning process is a continuous cycle of adaptive learning. The based therefore is an enterprise- wide Data Warehouse. The primary objective of Web- enabled EIS’s are the improvement of the information delivery process, and the avoidance of barriers to information access.}
