  abstract      = {The author presents quality improvement tools used in quality assurance systems (ISO 9000) and the Deming cycle, which, in connection with SPC methods, allows quality improvement of products and services. Special emphasis is laid on experimental design, including the Taguchi method, which is relatively unknown in Poland. Experimental design methods belong to the next generation of SPC tools and must be used for better process monitoring and continuous improvement.}
