  abstract      = {Compared to other industries, information and communication structures in the construction sector are still underdeveloped, thought technologies and infrastructures are available. In particular, the use of information and communication technologies (I&CT) at the production level, i.e. on the construction site, is weak when compared to design and planning phases in construction projects. One reason for this is the non- deterministic nature of construction site processes which impose particular requirements to core management processes such as problem management, progress monitoring and change management. Information management as an underlying process to the core processes tacks in appropriate systems for data acquisition, collection and distribution. This paper presents a generic I&CT concept for the support of these processes within construction site management based on comprehensive studies of recent literature and use of results from numerous company interviews.}
