  abstract      = {In this paper I discuss the forms of legal defining in relation to legal information systems. Two kinds of legal definitions are distinguished and compared: the intralanguage legal definitions and the metalanguage legal definitions. The thesis is putted forward that the differences between these two kinds of definitions affect the process of interpretation of legal texts as well as the process of formal reconstruction of legal systems. }
