  abstract      = {Finding similarity in time series in an important issue in data mining, as it is a tool for further investigations including grouping, classification, and rule discovering. All these tasks require a measure of similarity. In the paper we propose a formula that may be useful in finding time series of a particular shape. We also propose the method of reducing calculations by introducing a method that converts time series to a symbolic form preserving the main characteristics of the original series.}
