  abstract      = {The UDDI specification emerged as an attempt to address the key challenge of effective Web service discovery and evolved into a de facto industry standard. Yet, conventional UDDI registries lack the means to express unambiguous, semantically rich representations of service capabilities and also lack the logic-based inference capacity required for facilitating automated service matchmaking. To overcome this important limitation, a number of approaches have been proposed towards semantically-enriched service publication and discovery. This paper introduces the approach adopted in project FUSION, a combination of SAWSDL-based service descriptions with service capability profiling based on OWL-DL, and automated matchmaking via DL reasoning in a semantically extended UDDI registry.}
