ORGANIZERS
TOPIC OF INTEREST
The 5th International Conference on Business Information Systems (BIS
2002) is being organized to provide a forum for the exchange and
dissemination of research in the development, implementation, application
and improvement of computer systems for business purposes. The aim of this
session is to expose researchers and practitioners to the challenges
encountered in the area of application of language technology in
real-world business information systems. In particular, papers and demos
concerning intelligent text analysis and navigation, NLP aided knowledge
discovery and intelligent document management systems will be in the
center of the attention. Further, the session should provide an
interdisciplinary forum for the exchange of new ideas and experiences and
the discussion of future research directions including (but not restricted
to) the following topics related to language technologies:
a. Information filtering
b. Information retrieval
c. Information extraction
d. Textual question answering
e. Text mining
f. Web mining
g. Knowledge management
We sincerely invite practitioners and researchers to submit papers to
the BIS 2002 special session on language technology for business
information system. Papers should address one of these topics. The
conference language is English.
