System Security
Special Session
in conjunction with
the 6th International Conference
on Business Information Systems BIS 2003
Colorado Springs,
Colorado, USA
June 4-6, 2003
Call for Papers
Information and information systems security has taken on
new meaning with the increased awareness of the vulnerabilities inherent in
both current and future systems. The increasing dependence of the global
economy on information systems combined with the lack of solutions for
protecting these systems makes this an area of critical concern for business
and academic professionals. Given the many technical, social, and management
challenges that exist, areas of interest for the special session include:
Can we design and implement systems with the necessary
security protections?
What can we learn regarding risk management from other
industries such as insurance and finance?
How should security processes be integrated into the overall
management processes of an organization?
What are curriculum implications resulting from the
increased focus on information systems security?
How do we integrate information systems security with other
disciplines to improve practices throughout the system life cycle?
What are future legal and social implications in this area?
