We would like to draw your attention to the Legal IT workshop at BIS 2007 the jubilee 10th conference organized by our department. The workshop aims to address the main issues of two mutual contributing subjects, of Law and Information Technology. Changes in law in its use and creation, together with the huge development in information technology gave new research opportunities. The aim of the workshop is to gather those who are involved in that area and give them a platform for exchanging their opinions and solutions.

  • Specialized knowledge representation and logics for law
  • Semantic Web technologies and knowledge management for legal domain
  • Legal knowledge extraction
  • Natural language processing of legal sources
  • Computational models for legal reasoning and argumentation
  • Legal reasoning and its logic and computer representation
  • Document standards and electronic publishing of legal information
  • Automated semantic indexing, information extraction and categorization of legal documents
  • Fuzzy logic application in legal domain
  • Legal discourse modeling and legal reasoning
  • Legal information retrieval and its representation
  • Question answering retrieval in law and governmental services
  • Legal electronic agents and their coordination

Submission

  • Long papers: max. 5000 words
  • Work-in-progress rep.: max. 2500 words
  • Position papers: max. 2500 words

Papers must be submitted in either Word or PDF format, according to the ACM SIG proceedings template (http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.htm).

The proceedings will be published as CD-ROM with ISBN number and on-line at CEUR WS.org workshop proceedings publication service.
